ACHA Jimmies sign Dynamiters captain Stephenson

Trey Stephenson of the Kimberley Dynamiters has committed to play for the University of Jamestown Jimmies for the 2025-26 season.

Stephenson, a Grande Prairie, Alta., native took advantage of improved mobility this season to lead the Dynamiters blueline with 36 points in 23 games. Stephenson worked on his edges this season.

“It has become something I excel at,” said Stephenson, the Dynamiters captain. “My time in Kimberley is something I’ll never forget. I grew as a person and a player. The constant positive pressure the coaches put on me to get better every day allowed me to grow as a player.”

“Over his three seasons here, Trey has developed immensely on and off the ice,” said Dynamiters head coach-GM Derek Stuart. “He has become an elite defenceman in our league and a true leader through his hard work and dedication. Everyone involved with the Dynamiters is extremely happy for Trey and the opportunity that he has earned.”

Stephenson thanked his family, billet family, coaches, teammates and the Dynamiter organization. He’s very excited at the opportunity provided by the University of Jamestown to continue playing hockey at the next level. Stephenson had 67 points in 93 career regular season games.
