Luke Davies of the Kimberley Dynamiters is this week’s Young Guns selection after scoring four goals and collecting an assist in two games.
Davies, 18, scored in their 4-2 win over the Golden Rockets, then recorded his first career KIJHL hat-trick and added an assist in an 8-2 win over the Castlegar Rebels. What the Calgary native liked about his performance in both games is that he attacked the play.
“Play a little more physically, and try to get really engaged in the game,” said Davies.Â
He said it was “super exciting” to get his first hat-trick, especially at home.
“I went into it the same way I go into any game, trying to dominate as much as I can and help our team win,” said Davies. “It seemed like the puck was coming to me that night. I got a couple of lucky bounces I was able to capitalize on.”
Davies now has 16 goals and 33 points in 25 games to lead the Dynamiters. He’s also fourth among all KIJHL rookies in points.
