BCIHL’s Lakers add offence with Dynamiters’ Konneke

Parker Konneke of the Kimberley Dynamiters has signed to play for the Okanagan Lakers in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League for the 2024-25 season.

Konneke, 19, was second on the Dynamiters with 56 points in 38 KIJHL regular season games. The West Kelowna product credits his time with the Dynamiters for helping him improve as a player and move onto the next level.

“The organizations is second to none with its competitive nature and commitment to players,” says Konneke, who split the 2022-23 season between the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and Alberta Junior Hockey League. “I am very thankful to have been able to play for such a prestigious hockey club and to have lived in such a beautiful place.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Lakers organization,” he continued. “University hockey has always been a dream of mine and having the chance to play for my hometown team makes it even more special.”

“Parker was an elite offensive forward in our league, with only two players in the KIJHL scoring more goals than him (27 goals) last season,” says Dynamiters head coach and GM Derek Stuart. “He was a huge contributor to our offence and power-play. We want to thank Parker for his time and commitment to the organization and wish him good luck at UBC-O.”
