Kimberley Dynamiters defenceman Liam Furlong has committed to play for the Portage College Voyageurs in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference in the 2024-25 season.
Furlong has 16 points in 33 games with the Golden Rockets and Dynamiters this season. Since joining the Dynamiters, the Bragg Creek, Alta., product has five points in nine games.
Furlong said, “he owes a lot to my coaches and teammates who have been very supportive and encouraging.” He’s excited to make the most of his opportunity with Portage College.
Dynamiters head coach-GM Derek Stuart said Furlong is a top defenceman in the KIJHL and continues improving.
“He has fit into our culture due to his team-first mentality and commitment and has made us a better team after acquiring him in December,” said Stuart. “The Dynamiters organization is very happy for Liam in earning this opportunity.”
