KIJHL Power Rankings Week 13 – (Dec. 18)

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 13th week of regular season action for the 2022-23 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide final positions.

Revelstoke Grizzlies

Last Week: 1

Record: 18-2-3-4

The Grizzlies go into the Christmas break No.1 as they won both their games on the weekend. They defeated Chase 3-2, and the Sicamous Eagles 4-3 in a shootout. Rookie Colton McLeod led the Grizzlies with two goals, while goalie Jozef Kuchaslo collected two assists for his first points of the season.

Princeton Posse

Last Week: 3

Record: 21-4-1-3

The Posse climbed a spot as they gave up six goals in the three games they won last week heading into the Christmas break. They earned wins over Kelowna, Summerland and North Okanagan in a shootout. Rookies Ty Olsen, Tyson Horiachka and Brayden Bablitz led the Posse with five points each. Bablitz had three goals. Ethan Rau earned two of the three wins in goal.

Columbia Valley Rockies

Last Week: 2

Record: 21-5-0-2

The Rockies outgunned the Golden Rockets 12-4 in a home-and-home set between the highest scoring teams in the league. The Rockies won the first game 8-3, then won at the Golden Arena 4-1. Rookie Keenan Ingram led the Rockies with two goals and five points. Nate Glenn and Brett Sweet each had a win.

Kimberley Dynamiters

Last Week: 4

Record: 19-7-1-1

Staying in fourth are the Dynamiters after splitting their two games last week. They defeated Golden 4-3 at home, then lost to the Grand Forks Border Bruins 4-3 after leading 3-0. Four players had three points in the two games, with Jayden Kostiuk leading with two goals.

Osoyoos Coyotes

Last week: NR

Record: 17-7-3-0

The Coyotes climbed into the top-five with three wins last week against North Okanagan, Castlegar and Nelson in overtime. Carter Yarish led with eight points in three games, while Ethan McKinley had five goals and seven points in three games. Rhett Harkot won two games with a 1.68 GAA and a .933 SP.
